Putting on a National Specialty is a lot of work and the members of the host section do their best to make the show as much fun for the exhibitors and guest as possible. Extra hands are always appreciated. Below we have a few jobs listed to give you an idea of where we could use some help.
RAFFLE SET UP AT THE BANQUET - An extra pair of hands to set up the raffle and silent auction table at our banquet. We will need your help from approximately 5 pm to 6 pm on Saturday afternoon at the Best Western Rainbow country Inn. Contact Show chair This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Our specialty merchandise will also be for sale at the tent. If you can spare a few hours sometime during the weekend we will love to see you there pitching in. The Hospitality tent will be on site in the RV parking at the Heritage venue. Contact Donna Marie at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you're handy with a mixer sign up for kitchen duty. Not only will you be helping us out, you'll get a chance to say good-bye to new and old friends you met on the weekend. You need JavaScript enabled to view it AGILITY - Our schedule has two agility trials on Friday and we need some ring crew. Our equipment will arrive on Thursday afternoon so the first set up will start then. Timers, Scribes and gate Stewards for sure as well as course builders. The Belgian only trial will start at 1 pm. Following that will be the All breed trial. Experienced helpers are great but we will take help form anyone so if you want to learn what agility is all about sign up and you'll get a crash course! Contact Anita Thomson This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it HERDING - In addition to a TIMER and a SCRIBE for Thursday's herding trial and instinct test, we will need someone to assist with exhibitor check in. The course will be set up in advance and we are not required to take down the set but our crew must insure the grounds are clean before we leave. OBEDIENCE - Three RING STEWARDS are the minimum required to hold a trial. A table steward to assist in tabulations etc. and two for ring set up and leash holding, and get to be 'posts' (one of my favorite jobs). Beyond being a post, the ability to use a tape measure is helpful. Training can be provided if required. If you're thinking about doing Obedience someday, it's a great way to find out what it looks like from inside the ring. We will also need someone at ringside 1 hour prior to trial start to hand out armbands and pre-paid catalogues. So if you plan to be up Friday morning you could use the help. Contact Brian Smith at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it CONFORMATION - We will be required to hand out armband # and pre-paid catalogues, one hour prior to the start of conformation. Sweeps will start first we will likely need someone from 8 am to 9 am then again from noon to one. This job does not preclude you from showing.
